The Art of Moonalice

An exhibit of Rock Posters created for the band Moonalice.

Moonalice is a band that commissions a poster for every gig and gives them away for free. Since the band’s formation in 2007, Moonalice has produced a unique series of almost 550 original gig posters with artwork from over 20 artists.

Moonalice posters feature artwork from many of the legendary poster artists of the psychedelic 60’s as well as today’s top rock poster artists. Moonalice is a band that lets poster artists do what they do best – make art! Unencumbered by standard constraints, Moonalice posters are as diverse as the artists who create them.

On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Moonalice proudly presents their 2nd poster show at the Brooklyn Bowl. The full series of Moonalice posters will be on display and available for purchase at this FREE East Coast event. Many Moonalice poster artists will be attending the event in-person. The poster show opens at noon, Moonalice’s concert will follow the poster show in the evening. Join the event on Facebook!

Grace Slick & Moonalice to Host Visual Concert Experience

Legendary singer Grace Slick will team up with Moonalice for a ‘Visual Concert of Grace Slick’s Phantasmical, Whimsically Droll” on April 22 at George’s in San Rafael, CA. The exhibition will feature her newest painting, titled “Crossover,” along with a live performance from Moonalice.

According to the press release: “Moving from the beige world of the 50’s into psychedelic San Francisco circa 1964 these paintings deals with a shifting of focus, instead of being on the road she now paints the visual concert that you will experience at the show. Since last summer Grace has been concentrating on a new series of work that could best be described as dreamlike visions. Using bold color and flourishing designs Grace transports us into the world in which she lives. Colorful landscapes and friendly folks inhabit her paintings along with her fantastic animals Grace Slick is moving into a very elite circle of painters in today’s contemporary art world.”

The exhibit will take place from 6-8PM, followed by a live performance by Moonalice at 8:30PM.

The Art of Moonalice Poster Show – Slim’s – April 20, 2012

A Special Art Exhibit with 16 Moonalice Posters Artists in Attendance!

Moonalice is a band that commissions a poster for every gig and gives them away for free. Since the band’s formation in 2007, Moonalice has produced a unique series of over 460 original gig posters with artwork from over 20 artists.

Moonalice proudly presents the third Art of Moonalice poster exhibit at the Tribal Pow-Wow at Slim’s. We are going to show as many Moonalice posters as space permits. Sixteen Moonalice poster artists will be in attendance too! Moonalice’s concert will follow the poster show at 7:20pm, admission at the door is $4.20.

Doors open at 6:00pm!

On Sunday, April 8, 2012, Moonalice proudly presents a concert and poster show at the Brooklyn Bowl. The full series of Moonalice posters will be on display and available for purchase at this first ever East Coast event. Many Moonalice poster artists will be attending the event in-person. The poster show opens at noon, Moonalice’s concert will follow the poster show in the evening.
