According to Moonalice legend, today is the 20th of April … the day after Bicycle Day … two days after Patriots Day … better known to us as 4/20. This year 4/20 is the day that the United States finally decided to replace the horrific Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with the incredible and wonderful Harriet Tubman. Every year 4/20 is a day to celebrate the world’s most popular weed, cannabis. We are gathered here at Slim’s to share the High Holy Day of 4/20 with the members of our tribe. According to Moonalice legend, Redwood City has a well deserved reputation for attracting wildlife. Unfortunately, climate change and the emergence of San Francisco as the hub for technology innovation have taken their toll on some of Redwood City’s most entertaining species, most notably the Hippie Entrepreneur. As traditional species die off, the community has become a hotbed of cryptozoology … the study of species that do not actually exist. With the approach of the presidential election, cryptozoologists are focused on that most elusive of species, the honest politician. Traces have been found of both the male and female of the species, but neither appears to be native to this region. That has not prevented the press and the community from going to DefCon1, necessitating a full lockdown. I bring this up because tonight’s poster by David Singer depicts Foxy Moonalice, who is in charge of security for tonight’s show. In the interest of public safely, Foxy promises to keep this legend completely fact-free …

According to Moonalice legend, Applegate is like Eden, but with fewer snakes and more apples. I’m here to tell you that there are some strange things going on here in southern Oregon. First, Sugar Bob the Spirit Deer took off for parts unknown. Then, the apple crop disappeared. It’s a scandal … and they are calling it Applegate! We put on our best Woodward & Bernstein and solved the mystery of the disappearing apples. It turns out the good farmers switched out the apples in favor of weed.
