According to Moonalice legend, legalization is coming to California. If all goes well, it will happen after next year’s harvest. People ask us “Hey Moonalice, how should we prepare?” Our answer comes in the form of a poster by Alexandra Fischer. It depicts the fraternal twins Sativa and Indica Moonalice, who live on the beach of Humboldt Bay. All day long, Sativa and Indica burn small offerings to the gods. They fill their pipe with tribal goodness and set it on fire. We recommend you do the same.

According to Moonalice legend, Long Beach harbor played a really important role in supporting our Navy during World War II. While the boys were off fighting in Europe and Asia, the heavy lifting in factories fell to women. They busted their butts. And afterwards they danced to the music of Rosie the Riffster. As depicted in tonight’s poster by Darrin Brenner, Rosie could rock. She was so good that she could play guitar with both hands tied behind her back … Better yet, she could roll a doobie at the same time. That’s one reason why Moonalice is a matriarchy.

According to Moonalice legend — and today’s poster by Darrin Brenner — the sun is shining brighter today. You may have seen the news that the basketball team from across the bay — the Warriors — won the NBA championship last night. There is much joy in our community, as the Warriors last won a championship forty years ago … during the administration of Gerald Ford … which is to say, only ten years after the first Acid Test and the formation of the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. I’m pretty sure that dinosaurs still roamed the earth in 1975. When it comes to sports, the Moonalice tribe cares mostly about baseball, but we’re open minded, especially when it comes to teams as unusual and exciting as the Warriors. But the truth is that we are happy about the end of basketball season. This means for the next month or so we can enjoy baseball without any distractions.

According to Moonalice legend, things have gotten weird. This winter Boston got more snow than Alaska and California ran out of water. Kanye almost ran on stage at the Grammys … but he stopped. The good comedians are abandoning the news business, leaving it to Brian Williams. Texas is deploying its state guard to monitor army warm games … to make sure the army doesn’t invade the state … from a base inside Texas. Now in Baltimore they are playing baseball games without any fans. As tonight’s poster by Darrin Brenner demonstrates, a chasm has opened up between Agoura Hills and reality. We don’t know what is down in the chasm, but it has to be better than reality.
