Legend

According to Moonalice legend, today’s poster by John Seabury depicts the birth of Cecilia Serpent Moonalice. Cecilia was born on the moon – out of the moon might be a better description – but she soon came to earth, where she discovered the wonders of cannabis. A few puffs later, she went clubbing right here in Sellersville! Next thing you know, she went into labor. When the egg hatched, she gave birth to a son, Cecil. Cecil rejected the benefits of cannabis, but it worked out for him. Cecil the Seasick Serpent became a cartoon tv star, but his partner Beanie was a total stoner. Best of all, Cecil fathered Pete’s Dragon bass, which in turn sired my Dragon guitar. Small world!!!

According to Moonalice legend, today’s poster by John Seabury depicts Shelly Moonalice, the tribe’s first zombie crustacean. Shelly grew up in the waters off Ninilchik, until she was caught and tossed into a steamer. Normally what happens in the steamer stays in the steamer, but Shelley emerged as a zombie, pouring melted butter on everyone she sees. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Today’s show honored Jim McCaffrey.

On July 20, 2013, The Rock Poster Society is hosting Rock Art By The Bay at Mission Masonic Center in San Francisco. Admission is FREE to this one day event, and will run from 10:00am to 6:00pm. If you are in the Bay Area, this is a great opportunity to meet many poster artists, and get some of your Moonalice posters signed too! Moonalice artist Alexandra Fischer designed a cool event poster (pictured above) that will be available at the show.

According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by John Seabury is #601 in the Moonalice series. As you can see, it depicts a skull. At first glance, it appeared to be the title character from the Alien movies. Then we realized that our tribe has never been further than the moon, so it must be something else. That’s when we realized that it was the skull of a crypto-zoological mammal, the doobie rat. The doobie rat was a regular rat in life, but it had a spring at the back of its neck that emerged in death so that the species came back as a roach clip.

Onward! A Celebration of Ann McNamee’s Musical Life

Accord­ing to Moon­al­ice leg­end, there once was a beau­ti­ful blue moon named Blue Moon­al­ice. She was one of a kind, and so much more. She reflected light and joy wher­ever she went. On this night, she gath­ered her bands, her fam­ily, and the Moon­al­ice tribe to cel­e­brate a new adven­ture. Onward she will go into the world of musi­cal the­ater. This show includes music by Ann Atomic (the band Ann took on the Lilith Fair tour in 2011), the Fly­ing Other Broth­ers, Moon­al­ice and the cast of “Love Bytes,” the first of Ann’s two musi­cal the­ater projects.

According to Moonalice legend, 12 posters were created by the Moonalice artists to celebrate the musical life of Ann McNamee aka Ann Atomic Moonalice. Watch the video of this magical evening of music, musical theater and love on MoonTunes at Moonalice.com.
