The song is about how the right person at the right time can make beautiful things happen. For all of us in Moonalice, the silver lining is you, our fans. I think the silver lining metaphor also applies to our friend Rock Scully, who passed away this week. Tomorrow’s show at Slim’s will be a Tribute to Rock. According to Moonalice legend, bees are endangered by climate change and pollution. Not in this tribe. We take care our bee … because we have only one: Queen Bea Moonalice. As depicted in tonight’s poster by Carolyn Ferris, Queen Bea is a whole lot of bee. She has a bodyguard named Lucy, who has two heads, which makes Lucy twice as good as most bodyguards. So once again, the Moonalice tribe is demonstrating leadership on the environment. All we have to now is find more bodyguards with two heads!

Artist’s Statement

Here is my most recent poster for Moonalice at HopMonk Tavern in Novato on September 13, 2014. A tribute to two of my favorite bands: Moonalice and The Beatles! LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, The original has over 2100 Swarovski crystals lighting up the marmalade sky, it’s electric! Lucy has the sun in her eyes and kaleidoscopes twirling! She may be having a bit of a flashback or flash-forward as she has become transfixed with the bee on her forehead. The queen bee, in lower left , doesn’t have to work like the worker bee proudly displaying the date of the show: September 13th at HopMonk Tavern in Novato! This Moonalice show is free! And everyone attending will receive a free poster. Reserve a table and have some dinner before the 9 pm show rocks your world! See you there!
