Legend

According to Moonalice legend, everyone makes mistakes. The thing that matters is what you do after you make them. Today’s poster by the legendary team of Wes Wilson and Carolyn Ferris depicts Juanita Appleseed Moonalice, whose teenage years consisted of a seemingly endless series of mistakes and broken promises. Fortunately, the tribal authorities sent her to Delancey Lane, the predecessor to this wonderful institution. Delancey Lane was primitive by comparison — a bunch of huts with no running water — but the philosophy was the same. Everyone got a chance to start over, to live one day at a time, work hard and make the most of their lives. Juanita struggled at first, but she worked hard and learned a skill. She planted fruit trees throughout Northern California. Think about that next time you eat an orange or an apple! You, too, can make the world a better place.
