Moonalice poster by Gary Houston
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, when we were kids, the scariest thing imaginable was the America depicted on the Twilight Zone. Ol’ Rod Serling could not have predicted what is happening now, and he’s no longer around to guide us through it. Fortunately, Portland’s own Gary Houston has provided a symbolic roadmap in the form of tonight’s poster. At the bottom, it suggests that you ritually sacrifice a large ball of hash. That will improve your state of mind. At the top, the heart symbolizes loves, which is the only answer to the madness that surrounds us. The moon icon suggests you should complement your love with Moonalice, which you are all doing tonight. The all-seeing eye is an admonition to pay attention. If things get much weirder, we may need to strap on our wings and fly away. Sounds like a plan!!
