According to Moonalice legend, 2015 is coming to an end. Tonight’s poster by Alexandra Fischer reminds us that 2015 was a wonderful year for this band … and for many of you in this room. It was a great year to be a Deadhead. It was a great year for marriage equality. It was a year of great progress on the path towards ending the prohibition of cannabis. At the same time, it was a terrible year to be an unarmed black man confronted by police. It was a terrible year for politics, as crazy and ignorant became qualifications for advancement in the Republican Party. As we prepare to ring in a new year, let us go forward with optimism. Let us be kind and generous, building on the good and confronting the bad.
