Moonalice poster by Chris Shaw
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Chris Shaw features the Magnificent Monarch Moonalice, the Mysterious Moonalice Magician. Monarch’s maternal grandfather was a butterfly, but her act emphasized sleight of hand, because she had two of them. The legend speaks of a famous show here in Arcata, where Monarch’s finale was to make the massive python Pythagoras disappear. When the lights came on, Pythagoras the Python was sitting in the middle of the stage, fatter than ever, but Monarch was nowhere to be seen.
