According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Carolyn Ferris depicts Yo Yo Moonalice, who grew up here in Applegate. The woman known as Mother Yo Yo was many things: a bird, a plane, a juggler, and a clown. She wore plates for hats and entertained people for hours with her tricks. Mother Yo Yo’s secret was a third eye where her belly button should have been. The third eye was horribly nearsighted, so Mother Yo Yo was forced to press her tummy up against whatever her third eye wanted to look at. Personally, I always felt like she was invading my space.

According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Carolyn Ferris depicts Scarlett Footwear Moonalice, who insisted that everyone in our tribe have a pair of shoes. In the old days, our tribe was less than diligent in cleaning up after the many dogs, horses, and wombats that lived with them and Scarlett insisted that everyone protect their feet. As she was fond of saying, her middle name was Footwear!! So every year she gave every Moonalice a new pair of shoes. Most of the shoes were brown, but if you were really, really good, the shoes she gave you were red.

According to Moonalice legend, today is the final day of the M-Lympics, the quadrennial festival that has run in the minds of members of our tribe for the past two weeks.  As mind games go, the M-Lympics has no peer.  It also includes the best of traditional Moonalice sports, including smoking gymnastics.  Today’s poster by Carolyn Ferris depicts Jay Bogart Moonalice the 420th, who took gymnastics gold for rings. Smoke rings.  Jay Bogart the 420th is known as Draggin to distinguish him from his father, Puff.  His rings performance blew away the judges, as well as every other organism in the immediate vicinity.

According to Moonalice legend, there is a distinct possibility that the United State will elect a president this yea who has never drunk a cup of coffee, a Coca-Cola or a can of beer, to say nothing of tribal medicine. Tonight’s poster by Carolyn Ferris provides some advice on what to do if this horrible thing actually happens. For those of you at the back, the person on the outer part of the picture is you. This thing in the lower corner is your eye. You are looking inward at the goddess WTF Moonalice, who will pull you through the keyhole of your mind, where her Komodo Dragon Poopsie, her pet hand, Thing, a couple of biplanes, and a shitload of great herbal medicine will nurse you through what would otherwise be a very grim time.
