They’ve done it again! Moonalice, the band that has given out a free poster at every concert since its founding in 2007, has published another volume of mind blowing art and the legends behind each poster.
You are holding The Moonalice Legend: Posters and Words, Volume 10, the latest edition in a series that brings joy and laughs to a world gone mad. This volume covers 2016 and 2017, when the United States elected a madman and allowed him to ruin everything he touched. Fortunately, the successful campaign in California to legalize recreational use of you-know-what enabled the Moonalice tribe to deal with the madness of 2017.
In this book, you will meet Sir Topham Frog, the world’s greatest princess maker, and the Seven Sisters of Auburn, who cultivate tie dyed roses. You will learn about sustainability from Organica, Indica, and Sativa Moonalice, and experience the thrill of sea horse races on the Russian River. Eighty years after her disappearance, you will find Amelia Earhart… on a poster. Hang out with the Jerry Pranksters and take a ride in the Flamin’ Doobie, a modified pickup truck that replaced air conditioning with central weed. We will also introduce you to Snidely McTweetface, Cheeto the Clown, Rainy Day Moonalice the 35th, and a four-eyed pygmy dragon on a skateboard.
Moonalice is all about psychedelic music with lots of buzz. The Moonalice Legend is mostly about poster art from the finest artists in and around San Francisco.

Artist Lauren Yurkovich, currently with 34 posters in the Moonalice series, was selected to design the cover art for the official “Let’s Get Funky” music video.
The Chambers Brothers released “Funky” in 1971 and the song broke the Billboard Top 100 despite being deemed too risqué of a song for the time,” explains Moonalice vocalist Lester Chambers and legendary co-founder of the pioneering ‘60s psychedelic soul group The Chambers Brothers. “Now it is a new time and a new day, and we all need to get funky every now and then, especially in these crazy times. Moonalice delivers the song in a new, fun, and psychedelic soul jam kinda way. Everyone is lending something special to the song to make it unique and we are so excited for you to hear our latest song. We hope you get funky with us.” And adds guitarist Barry Sless, “This is our arrangement of the Chambers Brothers classic. It features some funky grooving from Pete Sears and John Molo on bass and drums, a great synth solo from Jason Crosby, soulful harmonica playing by Lester Chambers, and lively backing vocals from the T-Sisters and Dylan Chambers. At 80 years old Lester is still showing us how to get funky!”

Artist Dennis Larkins, currently with 44 posters in the Moonalice series, was selected to design the cover art for the official “Woo Woo” music video.
“Woo Woo” is a T Sisters original song about riding a metaphorical train where the object is the journey and not the destination. This song seeks to exemplify in its upbeat rhythmic tone the joy of the present moment and how it’s never too late to hop on that train! “Woo Woo” finds its most compelling form in this new recording with Moonalice. The video was a fun collaboration with members of the team and the T Sisters on their roof in Oakland. We hope you enjoy it!
