Artist Lee Conklin, currently with 27 posters in the Moonalice series, created this psychedelic art for The Rock Poster Society’s annual event the Festival of Rock Posters 2018 on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

Moonalice Artists Attending TRPS Festival of Rock Posters in San Francisco on Saturday October 20, 2018

The Rock Poster Society presents it’s annual event Festival of Rock Posters 2018 on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Held at the San Francisco County Fair Building (also known as the Hall of Flowers), it’s the biggest rock poster event of its kind! This is a great opportunity to meet your favorite Moonalice artists and get your posters signed too.

This event runs from 10:00am to 6:00pm and admission will vary depending on the time you arrive, after 3:00pm the event is FREE. More information and full list of attendees at TRPS.org

Carolyn Ferris Art Studio Grand Opening on Saturday, October 13, 2018

Carolyn Ferris Art Studio, a design studio by day and art classes by night and weekends, will hold its Grand Opening on Saturday, October 13. Festivities begin at 2 PM at 2000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in downtown Fairfax. Free food and refreshments will be provided. A free art poster will also be given to all who attend the Grand Opening. A special musical performance will be provided by Roger McNamee, singer and guitarist with the Bay Area’s renowned Moonalice.

The new studio is filled with Carolyn’s eye-popping, highly-acclaimed rock posters, created with a contemporary flair after the revolutionary style of the 1960s psychedelic era. Original art work will be on display, and an opportunity register for fall classes will also be available.

A Fairfax resident most of her adult life, Carolyn took off to Missouri a few years ago to become art partners with legendary artist, Wes Wilson. Wes retired this year and Carolyn’s found her way back to Fairfax. She had created well over 100 posters, many for the local band Moonalice and Roger McNamee. She has also created poster art for Widespread Panic, Santana, the Fillmore and the Warfield, and for events such as a party at the DeYoung Museum for 23andMe. She welcomes bands, event coordinators, and/or other unique businesses to contact her with interesting design projects.

Art teachers Melusina Gomez, MFA and Quinne Fokes, MFA will run classes at Carolyn Ferris Art Studio in mask making, drawing, painting fundamentals, and mixed media, serving ages 6 to adult/senior. Fall courses are 8 weeks. An ongoing live nude model night will be held each Tuesday. Register for classes now and get an early bird special.

Roger McNamee

Roger McNamee is the lead vocalist and plays bass and guitar with Moonalice, playing 90-100 shows a year. Moonalice has leveraged technology to build a national audience. The Moonalice Couch Tour™ on Moonalice.com enables fans to watch any show on a smartphone or PC without an app. Moonalice works with 24 poster artists to produce a unique poster for every concert. In 2014, Roger and Jason Crosby (Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Susan Tedeschi Band) formed a duo, Doobie Decibel System.

Faction Brewing Turns 5 Party On September 29, 2018

Faction Brewing is turning 5 and throwing a rager this Saturday, September 29, 2018! There will be no charge to hang out on the patio and in the tasting room, but if you want to see the show held inside the warehouse, tickets wil be $20 at the door (No advanced sales).

Moonalice Art Director Chris Shaw designed some special Anniversary t-shirts for this event that will be available to purchase along with LIVE screen printing by Thread Monster from 4:00-8:00pm. A Limited amount of pre-printed shirts will be available for sale before 4pm.

Faction is expecting a large crowd for this show, and capacity is limited so come early – they will be cutting off ticket sales once capacity is reached.

Food Trucks include Sip n Slide, Scolari’s, and a special gourmet sandwich menu from Pacific Fine Foods!

Kids Corner
Out on the patio, will include tons of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, more cornhole, and GIANT Connect 4 games for the kids!

Haight Street Art Center presents Family Devalues: A Poster Show

Haight Street Art Center presents, Family Devalues: A Poster Show, with artists, Jermaine Rogers, Marq Spusta, Miles Tsang and Zoltron.

In a world of chaos and uncertainty, where legends pass into the unknown and orange tyrants rule the world, four prolific artist’s futures depend on their collaborative abilities and creative fortitude, to combat the evils of the universe by manifesting hand printed parchments containing knife-brandishing bunnies, fungi-laiden visionary landscapes, fantastic ethereal spirit animals, and pony-tail wielding nuclear-reactive skeleton girls.

Their judgment, loyalty and courage, along with lots of silkscreen posters and other such creative endeavors, will be on full display. Be prepared to immerse yourself in a world of Family Devalues… Screen Prints, Gig Posters, Original Art, Rare Designer Toys, Street Art and Coin Operated Machinery, Exclusive Items, Defaced Rarities and Unannounced Treasures. Schmooze with like-minded individuals, lose your mind to the great unknown, and eat lots of Cheese and Crackers.

Exclusive, limited edition, artist-signed handbills, printed on-site, will be given to the first 50 people in the door. A life-size wax statue of Miles Tsang may or may not be available for VIP dinner parties, and 75%-100% of artists will be in attendance.

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 15th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
