According to Moonalice legend, Halloween is only one week away!! Tonight’s poster by Gary Houston depicts Glinda The Good Witch Moonalice, preparing to celebrate. Glinda lives in burrow underneath Portland’s rose garden, where she is mixing up a batch of Alice B. Toklas brownies. Glinda’s brownies are action packed, but also very tasty, thanks to a secret ingredient: eye of newt. We know this because Glinda let us have one fresh out of the oven!

TRPS Festival of Rock Posters 2013 by Lee Conklin

The Rock Poster Society presents it’s annual event Festival of Rock Posters this Saturday at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Held at the San Francisco County Fair Building (also known as the Hall of Flowers), it’s the biggest poster event of its kind anywhere in world! This is a great opportunity to meet the artist behind the poster, and get your favorites signed by them too.

This event runs from 10:00am to 6:00pm and admission will vary depending on the time you arrive, after 3:00pm the event is FREE. Complete list of artists and vendors attending at TRPS.org or join the event on Facebook for more information.

According to Moonalice legend, today is Psychedelic Sunday at Sweetwater. Today’s poster by David Singer depicts a great moment in tribal legend … when Queen Mill Moonalice started this lovely town which bears her name. Creating a town is a lot harder than it sounds, especially if you are buck naked in the forest and carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. But Queen Mill never gave up. She built a lumber mill, cut down a few redwoods, planted some weed … and the rest, as we say, is legend.

According to Moonalice legend, today’s poster by Alexandra Fischer depicts Vela Moonalice, the tribe’s patron saint of human powered, two-wheeled transportation. Among Vela’s many accomplishments was the creation of Bicycle Day, a tribal holiday that occurs every year on the 19th of April. Bicycle Day celebrates the experimental philosophy of Dr. Albert Hoffmann, a Swiss chemist of great note in our tribe. Today we celebrate Biktober, a new holiday that celebrates everyone on two wheels in the the town of Fairfax. In keeping with the season, the focus is on agriculture. The signs say “beer,” but we know better. Some of us who don’t live didn’t realize that Biktober is strictly BYOB, so we hope you will share.
