April 2, 2011 Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn, New York
Moonalice poster by John Seabury
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, a tree grows in Brooklyn. Based on this keen insight, ancient Moonalice tribe members in this area grew hemp. Really good hemp. So good that the locals competed to show who was best at growing and who was best at smoking. This led to the development of a new sport called bowling . . . as well as smoking rooms called bowling alleys, where proprietors provided bongs, hookahs, and other bowls suitable for smoking. The best of these alleys was called the Brooklyn Bowl. If you are ever in Brooklyn and get a chance to visit the Bowl, we strongly recommend it. BYOB. According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster was made by the incredible John Seabury.
