April 14, 2018 Good Old Days Festival, Pacific Grove, California
Moonalice poster by Gregg Gordon
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, Pacific Grove is a magnet for beautiful people and monarch butterflies. The humans come for the Good Old Days festival, of course. But why do the butterflies come here? Nobody knows. So we consulted the Moonalice legend. There we found today’s poster by Gregg Gordon. It depicts Yertle Moonalice, the Pied Piper of sea turtles. Yertle winters in Mexico amd summers in Pacific Grove. Every spring he plays a beautiful melody on his hash pipe and the butterflies follow him north. We only know this because Proposition 64 allowed Yertle to come out of his shell!
