April 14, 2013 Pacific Grove’s Good Old Days Festival, Pacific Grove, California
Moonalice poster by Dennis Larkins
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, today’s poster by Dennis Larkins depicts V-8 Moonalice, the tribal matriarch back in the Good Old Days. As her name suggests, V-8 was big and powerful. She ruled with a fist of hemp. V-8 loved to dance, especially at drive-in movie theaters, where she did the Charleston — in spike heels!!! — on the hoods of what would otherwise have become classic cars. If you are expecting a lesson in this story, you are in luck: Don”t go to drive in movies.
