Legend

According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Stanley Mouse depicts Princess Tiger Lilly Moonalice, whose royal blood was a lovely shade of blue. After escaping from Captain Hook — and later, Peter Pan — Tiger Lilly moved to Sebastopol, where she became a hemp farmer and poster artist. Like her blood, Tiger Lilly’s hemp strain was blue . . . and dreamy. Legend has it that her posters were fine art, but none of them has survived. They were printed on paper made from the finest hemp bud . . . and were sold by weight. Before you knew it, poster burning parties were all the rage here in Sebastopol. Stanley’s poster is printed on regular paper. Please don’t smoke it.
