Legend
According to Moonalice legend, Teaneck wasn’t incorporated until 1895, but it played a role in Moonalice legend way before that. In 1776 George Washington and the colonial army escaped through here after getting beaten at the battle of Washington Heights. History books imply that Washington passed through here because it was on the way, but the Moonalice legend has the real story. Hemp farmer Washington lost his stash in the battle! Without hemp for sails, rope and entertainment, the war would be lost. Fortunately, Washington knew a major dealer here in Teaneck. Washington got resupplied and was able to keep the army going long enough to win the war.
According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Carolyn Ferris depicts a surrealistic moment in Moonalice history. While Rene Magritte was painting his famous dude in a bowler hiding behind an apple, his buddy Salvador Dolly Moonalice was painting the same guy from the other side. If you are wondering why you never saw Salvador’s version, it’s because he painted on a rolling paper. He rolled up and smoked it with Magritte.
According to Moonalice legend, this show started 25 minutes EARLY!
