Their live performance sounds exactly like The Airplane 1965-1970! \nMembers have performed with Jefferson Starship\, Blue Cheer\, Quicksilver Messenger Service\, The Tubes\, Big Brother & The Holding Company\, New Riders Of The Purple Sage\, and more. \nSan Francisco Airship brings that wonderful Summer Of Love feeling back to life with hits like “White Rabbit”\, “Somebody To Love”\, “Wooden Ships”\, “Volunteers” and many more. The Airship tastefully celebrates the music of one of the great bands of our time.

DESCRIPTION:The Ain’t Necessarily Dead Music Festival is a true labor of love by many in the greater Auburn community who like to present incredibly great music to those who may not always be able to do so! It is a also a great way to enjoy our parks\, and to gather with friends – Something the Auburn Area Recreation & Park District (ARD) Supports \nThe Festival is located at ARD’s Regional Park in North Auburn CA\, not far off of Interstate 80. The Park has been home for another annual event called Party in the Park which happens the 3rd Friday of Every June – The location features a wonderful natural grass amphitheater that allows for plenty of room to stretch out and also dance. There is a Main Stage that features a variety of music\, and a little more intimate “Home Grown Stage” that features some incredible “local” talent – \nThe ARD Staff has collected a great group of Food and Craft Vendors that sit atop the amphitheater – where one can find everything from Pho to Italian Ice! The Crafts vary and are a ton of fun – you also can run into booths highlighting other fun in the community! \nCraft Beer is a big part of the Fest\, as not only do we have some great products to enjoy\, the Brewers provide the beer to us allowing for this event to exist! A big Thanks to the Auburn Ale House – Knee Deep Brewing Crooked Lane Brewing Moonraker Brewing and El Dorado Brewing\, all wonderful Foothill Brewers who make some incredible product! \nDon’t Forget the GIANT KID ZONE!! – This truly is a highlight for kids of all ages!! Parents can sit on the hill and enjoy the music\, while the kids can play and have fun in the Kid ZOne!! \nOverall this is a fun way to spend a day in the Foothills – We hope you will come out and Enjoy!! \nRoger McNamee\nRoger McNamee is the lead vocalist and plays bass and guitar with Moonalice\, playing 90-100 shows a year. SUMMARY:Haight Street Art Center presents Lee Conklin: 50 Years of Psychedelic Art
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: August 1\, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00pm \nThroughout its remarkable 50-year span\, Lee Conklin’s career has been well regarded as an essential contribution to the psychedelic poster art movement. Well known for imaginative vision and inventive lettering\, this work demands and rewards prolonged\, patient exploration. These posters often offer voyages—visual trips—containing hidden messages\, elements and value that reveal gradually and perhaps unintentionally. According to Conklin\, “I just start drawing … and sometimes it turns into something.” \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nToday\, Lee Conklin successfully maintains the freehand ethos of his established style but fuses it with the possibilities inherent in digital technologies. Not retro-psychedelic\, this is contemporary psychedelic art of the highest order. \nExhibit runs through September 30\, 2018.

However\, the music produced is uniquely Cubensis. \nThe group has been acclaimed for giving new life to the Grateful Dead’s material\, bringing in new styles\, new innovations\, and new jam band enthusiasts\, while at the same time remaining loyal to the original music and the original fans. \nCubensis has been pleased to find their most enthusiastic supporters are those who never got a chance to see the Grateful Dead in person\, and wonder what they missed. Seasoned “Deadheads” come out to relive the great shows gone by\, and as a result\, the band is in great demand. \nCubensis was given specific permission by Jerry Garcia to perform the Dead’s music. Drawing from all eras of the Dead\, the band performs two sets of Grateful Dead and JGB classics that retain all the spontaneous exploratory jamming for which the bands were renowned. Garcia’s only request was\, “Do a good job of it.” Ever since\, CUBENSIS has promised authenticity with reverance\, and delivers pure Grateful Dead-inspired music like it was meant to be heard…re-creating the magic\, one show at a time.

SUMMARY:All Access: Exploring Humanism in the Art of Chuck Sperry
DESCRIPTION:All Access: Exploring Humanism in the Art of Chuck Sperry\nSeptember 15 – December 9\, 2018 \nThe Fort Wayne Museum of Art is pleased to celebrate Chuck Sperry’s first museum solo exhibition. Sperry has been preeminent in the rock poster genre since the late 1990s and has largely defined the genre in each decade since with his distinctive style and masterful printing technique. \nSperry has drawn inspiration for this work from the classical Greco-Roman idea of the muses\, and their metaphorical home on Mount Helikon — the source of inspiration for all things art and music. Naiads\, nymphs and muses in their richly patterned floral settings make their way into Sperry’s work. Dripping with brightly colored flowers\, decked in gold and silver textures\, Sperry’s blue-silver muses sing a paean to the long tradition of humanism reactivated in the struggle for social progress\, universal human rights\, a more perfect democracy and the utopian ideals of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco where Sperry has made his home since 1989. \nSymbolism\, Secession\, ukiyo-e\, and psychedelia blend in Sperry’s flattened\, post-modern figurative art: all potent ingredients Sperry strives self-consciously to re-evaluate for the 21st Century. \nThe exhibit will feature 2 large scale tapestries designed by Sperry\, 25 screen prints on oak panel\, original ink drawings\, and ephemeral color progressives which illuminate Sperry’s unique printing process. \nThis exhibition is organized by the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and its Curator of Contemporary Art Josef Zimmerman. \nExhibition Opening Party: September 14\, 6-9pm\nCelebrate opening weekend of this exhibit and Litmus Test: Works on Paper from the Psychedelic Era with live music\, cash bar\, appetizers\, and face time with the one and only Chuck Sperry! \nRead More
