The Art of Moonalice
An exhibit of Rock Posters created for the band Moonalice.
Moonalice is a band that commissions a poster for every gig and gives them away for free. Since the band’s formation in 2007, Moonalice has produced a unique series of almost 550 original gig posters with artwork from over 20 artists.
Moonalice posters feature artwork from many of the legendary poster artists of the psychedelic 60’s as well as today’s top rock poster artists. Moonalice is a band that lets poster artists do what they do best — make art! Unencumbered by standard constraints, Moonalice posters are as diverse as the artists who create them.
On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Moonalice proudly presents their 2nd poster show at the Brooklyn Bowl. The full series of Moonalice posters will be on display and available for purchase at this FREE East Coast event. Many Moonalice poster artists will be attending the event in-person. The poster show opens at noon, Moonalice’s concert will follow the poster show in the evening. Join the event on Facebook!

According to Moonalice legend, it’s a long way to Tipperary. There are no direct flights to Tipperary, but lots of great music at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, thanks to the amazing Warren Hellman. Warren died in 2011, but left a trust that ensures that this wonderful festival lives on. Thank you, Warren. In your honor, we brought posters by Stanley Mouse, John Mavroudis and Dennis Larkins.

Onward! A Celebration of Ann McNamee’s Musical Life
According to Moonalice legend, there once was a beautiful blue moon named Blue Moonalice. She was one of a kind, and so much more. She reflected light and joy wherever she went. On this night, she gathered her bands, her family, and the Moonalice tribe to celebrate a new adventure. Onward she will go into the world of musical theater. This show includes music by Ann Atomic (the band Ann took on the Lilith Fair tour in 2011), the Flying Other Brothers, Moonalice and the cast of “Love Bytes,” the first of Ann’s two musical theater projects.
According to Moonalice legend, 12 posters were created by the Moonalice artists to celebrate the musical life of Ann McNamee aka Ann Atomic Moonalice. Watch the video of this magical evening of music, musical theater and love at Moonalice.com or MoonTunes.
Artists in the poster set include: Darrin Brenner, Carolyn Ferris, Lee Conklin, David Singer, Dave Hunter, John Seabury, Stanley Mouse, Dennis Loren, John Mavroudis, Winston Smith, Wes Wilson, and Alexandra Fischer.
