Moonalice poster by John Mavroudis
Legend
According to Moonalice legend, today is Bicycle Day, commemorating the day that Dr Albert Hoffman first experimented with a medicine of his own design, LSD. After some initial disorientation – and handlebars that may have melted away on the wobbly ride home – Dr Hoffmann reported that the experience was pretty entertaining. I bring this up because the subject of tonight’s poster by John Mavroudis, Goodnight Moonalice, was there when Dr Hoffman made his famous ride on April 19, 1943. Goodnight was impressed by the good doctor’s invention and has been trying get his hands on some LSD ever since. There is no truth to the rumor that last week’s “blood red” moon was evidence that Goodnight got some after all?
