Accord­ing to Moon­al­ice leg­end, today’s poster by Stan­ley Mouse fea­tures the immor­tal Grand Daddy Pur­ple Moon­al­ice, a blues­man of the old school of lived with half a dozen fam­i­lies here in Novato dur­ing the 50s. Grand Daddy had bet­ter than aver­age eye­sight for a blues man, and shorter than aver­age claws for a cat. His unique col­or­ing, dis­tinc­tive shades, and flashy pick­ing com­bined to drive his neigh­bors to drink, which is why they started the Novato Art & Wine Festival.
